Michael's fourth and latest album is released by Woodbox
Records, and is a Westcoast blend of fiddle genres including Canadian and Celtic styles as well as Bluegrass, Swing, and more. Includes some original tunes including the title track "Saltchuck", as well as traditional pieces and covers of contemporary works. Special guests include Trent Freeman, Adam Dobres, Ben Knorr, Kosta Bozhinov, Brian Holmes, and more. The album is a well-crafted showcase of the variety of Michael's playing, as well as distinctly "BC" in its approach to fiddle music!
This is Michael's third album and is Holiday/Fiddle themed. Fiddle versions of classic pieces such as Hark the Herald, Silent Night, Carol of the Bells, Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas, My Favourite Things, Auld Lang Syne, Jingle Bells, as well as plenty of fiddle tunes with a Winter/Christmas theme (Christmas Eve Reel, Frost is All Over, Christmas in Orkney, Snowflake Breakdown).

A SENSE OF TRADITION (2018)
Michael's debut album was recorded by Victor Smith at Freemantrax Studios in Whiterock, BC, and is a lively collection of fiddle tunes from the Celtic, Old-Time + French Canadian, and American traditions. It includes reels, jigs, waltzes, and showtunes and features a variety of special guest musicians including Brian Robertson on guitar, Don Davidson on mandolin, Micki-Lee Smith on fiddle, and Sarah Ann Chisholm on vocals. Folkworld magazine listed it as in the top 5 traditional albums of the year.

Michael's second album was recorded, mixed, and mastered by himself at Cat And The Fiddle studios in Vancouver, BC, and features an eclectic and unique blend of fiddle styles, including Irish, Scottish, Cape-Breton, Bluegrass, Old-Time Canadian, French Canadian, and even a couple Jazz and Popular standards. Guest musicians include Adam Dobres, Mac Morin, Calvin Vollrath, Craig McGregor, and more!
